Stephanie King is a writer, filmmaker and impact producer living and working between Lenape Lands - NYC, Eora Nation - Sydney, and over 30 nations of the Kimberley region of northern Australia. With Nic Wrathall, Mark Jones and Albert Wiggan, she wrote and produced acclaimed feature doc Undermined – Tales from the Kimberley, which follows Traditional Owners Albert Wiggan, Kevin Oscar and June Davis as they battle to protect their homelands from mining, gas and industrial agriculture. The film was selected for the AIDC Impact Strategy Hack and Documentary Australia’s Executive Produced By program, and was awarded the MIFF Premiere Fund, MIFF Top 5 Feature Documentaries, and Antenna Film Festival Audience Award for Best Documentary, ahead of festivals and a national theatrical release. As impact producer, Stephanie led the Undermined impact, education and outreach campaign co-designed with Albert Wiggan and Dr Anne Poelina, in partnership with Katie Barry, Clara Williams Roldan and Mitzi Goldman at Documentary Australia.  Previously, she co-wrote and produced Toothmob on Indigenous dental health for Charlie Perkins Trust, and co-produced critically-acclaimed Observance, which premiered at BFI London Film Festival. Most recently, she directed, produced and impact produced Voices of the River, a documentary series with Martuwarra Traditional Owners published by The Guardian. In her research and advocacy work, Stephanie has won international Green Gown Awards for her projects around social welfare and environmental sustainability. She guest lectures at universities and art institutions in Australia and the US, and her writing and commentary have been published widely. She has worked as a researcher on Indigenous housing, policy and social equity at the University of Sydney, was a co-director of Join the Dots ARI, and was a fellow of the UnionDocs Collaborative Studio in 2022.
