Bio

Srikrupa Raghunathan works as a freelance documentary filmmaker, researcher, editor and grassroots facilitator around the issues of community media, health, gender,caste, class, adivasis and food sovereignty in India. She believes in the power of media for social transformation and justice. She is currently doing her PhD in Filmmaking at Queen Mary University of London. She worked as an Outreach Director at Good Pitch Local Deccan; Climate Story Lab South Asia and visiting faculty teaching documentary filmmaking at Annapurna College of Film and Media, Hyderabad. Her last documentary “We Are an Untold Story” was a poetic documentary about undocumented women and their access to health care in the UK, was screened as a campaign film to bring in awareness about the issues of migrant women and everyday injustices they have to face. She is currently based out of London and also holds a MA in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai, India and MA in Filmmaking ( Screen Documentary) from Goldsmiths, University of London, United Kingdom. She is also a passionate ornithologist and wildlife photographer, given a chance, she would spend her early mornings and evenings walking with her camera around lakes and forests.
