Bio
Soe Arkar Htun is an up and coming film producer from Myanmar and a Deputy Director of Yangon Film School. His first short documentary as director A Political Life travelled to various film festivals including Alpavirama (India) and Watersprite (UK), where it received Best Student Documentary Award and Filmmaker of the Future Award and nominated for Best ASEAN documentary at Salaya Documentary Film Festival in Thailand. He studied international film production subject at Busan Asian Film School and alumnus of the Locarno Open Door Lab, Asiadoc Producer’s Workshop in Cambodia, the Hanoi International Film Festival Talent Campus and Fair International Film Festival Talent Campus. In 2019, he and two other college founded Kefka Film Production and he has since produced a number of films The Forgotten Voices of the Mekong, No Real Body and Song of Souls. Having joined the Yangon Film School’s management team as Junior Producer in 2019, he was promoted to the role of Deputy Director in 2020.
