Bio

Ryan Kane's diverse background of 14 years includes work on 6 Oscar-nominated campaigns and over 40 theatrical releases. He is a creative at heart and strives on building collaborative relationships with others. This passionate approach is found in all of the work he does. He graduated from The School of Visual Arts for Film and spent his first year in the professional world learning the ins-and-outs of production (from on-set to post). He soon shifted his focus to distribution and audience outreach. This began with assisting in non-theatrical sales and outreach for an Oscar-nominated documentary company Anker Productions, followed by interning at Criterion Collection/Janus Films. At GKIDS, he brought the finest in international animation to North American audiences for over six years. Starting out as a small company, Ryan built out extensive theatrical & non-theatrical sales and marketing initiatives, plus cultivated relationships with some of the finest arthouse cinemas, film festivals and cultural institutions. Ryan's story isn't just confined to the film industry: in 2022, he embarked on a two-year worldwide travel sabbatical, visiting over 20 countries on five continents. His proudest memories include trekking through the Himalayas in Nepal and the Patagonia region in South America, stargazing in the Atacama Desert of Chile, immersing himself in the Spanish language in Oaxaca, Mexico, and trying all the street food he could get his hands on in Hanoi, Vietnam. This experience led to an increased global understanding and desire to work across cultures in his next chapter. Ryan’s mission is to represent films from all corners of the world that inspire, spark meaningful conversations, push the boundaries of film-making, and amplify underrepresented voices. He aims to champion filmmakers and production companies that are committed to addressing environmental issues, shine a spotlight on underrepresented communities worldwide, and celebrate Earth’s rich cultural diversity.
