Bio

Rahi Hasan (they/them) is a formerly undocumented queer Muslim Bangladeshi dancer, filmmaker, and impact strategist. As an artist, Rahi is committed to participatory storytelling that combats extractive methodologies. They created a substantial catalog of films featuring the work of nonprofit and governmental organizations which highlight pathways forward to a more just world. Rahi is touring with their short film, 35: A Diary of Self-Discovery, commissioned by The Center for Cultural Power, which screened at New Filmmakers Los Angeles. They are developing the feature documentary Dhupshikha, about their mother’s commitment to find healing for herself and her community through poetry.
