Bio
My name is Raghad Kasim, and I was born and raised in Iraq. I work in the media industry, researching stories about Iraqi women who overcome obstacles every day as they play leadership roles in communities across the country. As a filmmaker, I am primarily interested in stories that capture the passion of women as they continue to inspire Iraqis around the world, particularly young people who are learning to navigate a society that is only now beginning to emerge from war. I am constantly on the lookout for these stories and have worked on two independent Iraqi productions: as an Executive Producer for "The Last Displaced" (2021) and as a 2nd AD for "Hanging Gardens" (2021). My first documentary film, titled "Once More," was released in 2022.
