Bio

Poppy van Oorde-Grainger is an artist, filmmaker and founding director of not-for-profit production company Same Drum. She works across a range of mediums and has 20 years of experience collaborating with communities on art and film projects. Poppy first gained national recognition as winner of the Fremantle Print Award and later the Australia Council Kirk Robson Award for leadership in community arts and cultural development. Projects Poppy has written, directed and produced on have been broadcast and presented at festivals, museums and galleries including Two Sands (SBS, 2022), Ngaluk Waangkiny (ABC, 2022) and Galup (Perth Festival, 2021). The short film Two Sands also screened at numerous Academy-qualifying festivals and won the top prizes for short film at Port Shorts, UnLonely Film Festival and WA Screen Culture Awards. ​www.samedrum.com www.poppyvog.com
