Bio

Paulina Suárez is general director of Ambulante, a non-profit organization that supports and promotes documentary cinema culture across Mexico (www.ambulante.org). She has served as juror in numerous documentary film festival competitions including Sundance, Lima’s International Film Festival, and Valdivia’s International Film Festival. She holds an MA from the University of Chicago and is completing her PhD in Cinema Studies at New York University (NYU). Her research has focused on contemporary Latin American non-fiction cinema, audience studies, and expanded documentary cultures. She is committed to cinema's vocation as a public storytelling medium and as a catalyst for social justice.
