Bio

I am based in Guadalajara, Mexico. I studied political science at ITESO and an MSc in environment and sustainable development at the University College London. I have worked with activism and campaigns for over ten years, I started off with mobility and city rights with a grassroots movement, I also participated in a nationwide campaign to demand independent candidacies by promoting voting null in 2009, I was part of the coordination team of the first independent candidate win in 2015 of Pedro Kumamoto, and in 2018 I ran for Congress as an independent candidate myself. After this, I got involved with the climate movement in Mexico and in Guadalajara. I am currently coordinating an NGO dedicated to communicating the climate crisis, Conexiones Climáticas (Climate Connections). We have designed and executed campaigns for Greenpeace Mexico and Iniciatva Climática de México. As independent work, I produced and wrote El Tema (The Issue), a climate change documentary series with Gael García Bernal, and I am now coordinating its impact campaign. The campaign is operating with local allies and organizations in 7 different states in Mexico, and it aims to weave the climate movement with land and environmental defenders. I’m also the creator of 2050: El fin que no fue (2050:The end that was not), a podcast fiction of how humanity faced the climate challenge.
