Bio
Nini is a communication strategist with extensive experience in leveraging film as a tool for advocacy, social justice, and public engagement, with a diverse background spanning film marketing and distribution, advertising, PR, and non-profits. As the Managing Director of DAKILA, an artist-activist collective in the Philippines, Nini leads its creative and communications initiatives, applying frameworks such as Social Behavior Change (SBC) and Narrative Changemaking to drive impactful campaigns. She also oversees the film outreach program of Active Vista, DAKILA’s human rights center, where they craft and execute social impact campaigns addressing critical issues such as human rights, environmental justice, and historical memory, fostering both local and global engagement. Nini's expertise as an independent Film Marketing and Distribution professional has been instrumental in the success of notable films at TBA Studios. She has also capacitated filmmakers in film marketing, distribution, and social impact strategies, ensuring that films are not just seen but also spark meaningful change. With seven years of academic experience as a faculty member in film and design education, Nini bridges the worlds of storytelling and social change. Recently, she deepened her commitment to human rights advocacy in film as a fellow of the Summer School for Cinema Human Rights Advocacy in Venice, Italy.
