Bio

I am a human rights lawyer by training and a human rights campaigner in practice. My creative non-violent weapon to campaign for human rights is film. Having worked in the human rights non-governmental world for many years before becoming a producer and impact producer gives me the advantage of a good understanding of international politics and international law. I founded Human Rights in the Picture in 2013, a non-profit foundation advocating for human rights through visual storytelling. See https://humanrightsinthepicture.org for current and past projects. Our legal seat is in The Hague, The Netherlands but we operate as a network organisation by connecting human rights activists, filmmakers, photographers and other artists worldwide. As the current director I have initiated, funded and implemented several impact campaigns. Happy to mentor young makers and work on new projects together!
