Bio

Nadine Torney is an impact producer with more than 20 years of experience in social justice campaigning and documentation. She is experienced in all aspects of grassroots campaigning, community and stakeholder consultation, strategic communications, advocacy, media and political strategy and visual documentation. She has sourced opportunities, finance and resources to fund independent film production and human rights programs nationally and internationally. In Australia, Nadine has worked with Dunghutti Elders documenting the first Stolen Generation stories from Kinchela Boys Home in Northern NSW since 2000. As an Impact Producer, she has collaborated with local communities in Indonesia alongside elders and initiated 'Culture as Context,' a cultural tool for documentation of the recovery process in the city of Yogyakarta earthquake disaster 2008. Similarly working with elders, communities and cultural practices to implement landmine reduction, UXO, munitions, small arms recovery and food security programs throughout Asia. Nadine is currently working with a Syrian correspondent and journalist documenting the AUKUS Trilateral military pact and the resistance of First Nation's Wodi Wodi and Dharawal elders, residents and unions to the US nuclear submarine fleet base proposal for the NSW coastal town of Port Kembla. Nadine is interested in collaborating with creatives, impact producers and strategists to look at creating and distributing films in new and innovative ways.
