Bio

Maya is a director and Impact Producer. She directed acclaimed feature In My Blood It Runs (2019) about ten-year-old Arrernte/Garrwa boy Dujuan and his community made in collaboration with those onscreen. Those families led a multi-year impact campaign targeting juvenile justice, education rand anti-racism. Her first feature doc Gayby Baby sparked a national conversation about the rights of children raised in LGBTIQ families. Her most recent Netflix doc The Dreamlife of Georgie Stone, is about young trans activist Georgie which is rolling out a campaign led by the Unquiet Collective.
