Bio

Maya Ghattas (she/her) is a Lebanese-Australian producer and social scientist, bringing a critical lens and conceptual thinking to GARUWA’s work since 2021. Maya’s commitments gather around the impact of cross-cultural connection and care, and she’s interested in rethinking social structures, meanings and our everyday realities, towards imagining ourselves and our world beyond their present forms. She produced Power to Country (2023) and Motherhood in the Colony (2025), is the Program Producer for the annual First Nations Impact Lab (2023, 2024, and 2025), and doubles as the Program Manager at SHIFTING GROUND, an Aboriginal-owned and women-led organisation dedicated to decolonising practices within organisations and communities, co-founded by Genevieve Grieves and Dr Lilly Brown.
