Bio

Marcia Jarmel is a veteran member of the Bay Area documentary filmmaking community. She co-founded PatchWorks Films in 1994 and has been producing, directing, and managing impact for their slate of award-winning films ever since. Since June 2021 she has been directing Filmmaker Services at the Jewish Film Institute, running a year-long residency program, and a completion grant that champions bold films and filmmakers that expand and evolve the Jewish story. PatchWorks is committed to our films impact on the ground, supporting the work of organizations and individuals working on change in the issues addressed by our films. Marcia has supported impact campaigns related to women's health, bilingual education, service work, U.S.-Cuba relations, the Muslim ban, and access to musical education.
