Bio

Maggie is an Impact Producer and Filmmaker who has had a stellar career creating stories for diverse audiences. During her twelve years in the Northern Territory of Australia Maggie had an Award-wining stint as Artistic Director of Corrugated Iron Youth Arts, where she wrote the acclaimed plays BRANDED and Worry Dolls. Maggie was Company Director and Senior Producer of Burrundi Pictures, a co-producing entity on the groundbreaking feature Yolngu Boy with the Australian Children’s Television Foundation and the Yothu Yindi Foundation, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival. Maggie produced the features: Van Diemen’s Land, which screened at Sitges, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), released in ANZ by Madman Entertainment; The Turning, also Madman, which had MIFF and Berlinale Gala Screenings; Paper Planes, released in ANZ by Roadshow, which had a Kids Gala at MIFF, and screened at Toronto Int. Film Festival, Busan Int. Film Festival 2014, was the Opening Film for Generation Kplus, Berlinale 2015, and won the inaugural CinefestOz Film Prize 2014; the late Paul Cox’s Force Of Destiny, Opening Night, Melbourne Int. Film Festival 2015; the Good Pitch Australia documentary GUILTY on which she was Impact Producer and co-writer, Adelaide Film Festival 2017, won the ATOM Award for Best Docudrama 2018, and the inaugural Dili International Film Festival Best Documentary. Maggie produced High Ground, which had a World Premiere Gala at the Berlinale 2020, was the Opening Night of the Brisbane International Film Festival 2020 and had a Gala screening at the Adelaide Film Festival released in ANZ by Madman Entertainment. High Ground won Best Film, Film Critics Circle of Australia and Screen Producers Australia and Best Film ATOM Awards. Maggie is co-voice director/producer on the Kunwinjku and Ngukurr Kriol versions of Little J & Big Cuz, Series 3. Maggie wrote and directed the documentary Dare to be Different/Class Act for ABC Compass and is an Asia Pacific Screen Awards Academy Children’s Film Fund recipient for her first screenplay in collaboration with author and storyteller Boori Monty Pryor.
