Bio

Lonnie Frazier a documentary filmmaker, impact producer, and writer. She is dedicated to using storytelling as a catalyst for change. A Maryland native, her journey into filmmaking was shaped by her experiences in the Deadhead community, inspiring her to create Box of Rain, a documentary about the healing power of music and community. But her appreciation for storytelling began when she listented to her grandfather tell her about his childhood in coal country in Appalachia. Understanding the way his words could transport people to that time and place felt like magic. She specializes in impact production, helping filmmakers connect their stories with the right advocates, educators, and change-makers to spark meaningful dialogue and action. Lonnie has worked on outreach and impact campaigns for films such as the Peabody Award-winning DEEJ (autism and inclusion), I Am Maris (mental health and self-expression), and Fixed: The Science/Fiction of Human Enhancement (ethics of human enhancement). She has also worked on outreach and impact for Scattering CJ, Si Pudiera Quedarme and Not Your Model Minority, ensuring underrepresented voices are heard. Beyond filmmaking, Lonnie is a passionate epilepsy advocate, and when she’s not working, she enjoys hiking with her spoiled dogs and watching film trailers.
