Bio

Karina Holden is a film maker and four-time Emmy award winning producer, based in Sydney Australia. With over two decades of experience as a film maker, the crux of her work is to create change, truth tell and find unlikely heroes who challenge our perceptions. Her role as Head of Factual at Northern Pictures since 2013 has allowed her to oversee a slate of diverse programs including: Love on the Spectrum, See What You Made Me Do, Strong Female Lead, Asking for It, Employable Me, Blue, After the Fires and Changing Minds. With Post Graduate qualifications in Conservation Biology, Karina remains a passionate ambassador of conservation work internationally and has been recognised in the 100 Women of Influence awards for her global contribution to environmental film making. Karina was named the UNESCO Sydney City of Film, film maker of the year in 2021. In 2022, the Producer’s Guild of America awarded her the George Sunga Award for advancing the portrayal and employment of disabilities in media.
