Bio

Kaita Igarashi is a Portland, Oregon based documentary filmmaker and impact producer focused on the topics of militarism, labor, and protest. He began his career as an impact producer for Israelism, a critically acclaimed film examining the American Jewish community’s shifting relationship to Israel/Palestine. Since then, Kaita has worked with leading voices in the space, including Tikkun Olam Productions, Seen.TV, and Watermelon Pictures. Notable films include The Encampments (CPH:DOX), The Other (Boston International Film Festival), Ahmad Alive (Encounters South African International Film Festival) and Coexistence My Ass (Sundance). Currently, they are working on completing their directorial debut, “Business As Usual," a short documentary that investigates the hidden reach of modern militarism.
