Bio

Julia Ellen Schutt is a native of Boston, Massachusetts currently residing in Oaxaca, Mexico. Julia has a master’s in International Human Rights and has worked in Colombia in many contexts related to human rights, conflict, and peace. Julia has extensive experience in developing and managing projects and programs and in building relationships. She is passionate about community engagement and qualitive research. Julia entered the world of independent film in Oaxaca, as Production Coordinator and Associate Producer for a feature film with a local director, filmed in and in collaboration with the director’s home village - a rural and indigenous chatino community in southern Oaxaca. Julia is also the Impact Producer for the Colombian documentary La Niebla de la Paz – focusing on international outreach and impact. Julia will soon commence studies in Anthropology at the University of Manchester and is interested in applying an anthropological lens to impact and impact evaluation.
