Bio

Juan David Rangel Gil is a purpose-driven communicator and impact producer in training. He received his undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Public Health, Film and Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and. As a social entrepreneur with the vocation of amplifying voices of the periphery, he engages audiences with narrative podcasting, documentary photography, multimedia journalism and short filmmaking. His communications projects and campaigns are nurtured by alternative and community-oriented strategies including building affective networks, promoting the reciprocity economy, and adopting cartography models for data visualization. Juan David has managed communications and produced content within distinct industries and organizations from which stand out SOS Children’s Villages in nonprofit, the Massachusetts General Hospital in healthcare, and Mission Local in newspapers. As the director of A Todo Pulmón and Un Canto al Paso, two multimedia collectives, he shines a light on issues related to gender, ethnicity, cultural heritage and human rights.
