Bio

HELENA DIAS is a documentary filmmaker and creative producer with a degree in Radio and TV and a postgraduate degree in Documentary Filmmaking. She has worked for over ten years as a local and executive producer, screenwriter and director of documentary series and films for ARD, WDR, TVE, Deustche Welle, Channel Asia, Vice, O Globo and the UN. Local producer for "The Eddge of Democracy", an Oscar-nominated film by Petra Costa and scriptwriter, co-writer and associate producer of the feature documentary "Seeds: Black Women in Power" about the biggest political uprising led by black women in Brazil after the execution of councilwoman Marielle Franco, currently shown on Globoplay International.
