Bio

Danny is the Executive Director and Founder of Kindling Group and an award-winning producer, director, and leader in using media for change. He recently directed No Small Matter which has screened almost 2,000 community screenings and aired on Sundance Channel. Past films include Radical Grace (Producer and EP, with Susan Sarandon), winner of audience awards at HotDocs and AFI Film Festivals, the limited series The Calling (Independent Lens), a national PBS special, @home and A Doula Story, both of which aired on PBS. Legacy (HBO, Co-Producer/Editor), was nominated for an Academy Award and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. He also produced and directed No Time to be a Child (PBS/CPB), a series that was nominated for a national Emmy Award. Alpert’s digital documentaries include two seasons on CPB’s Veterans Coming Home, Pulling the Thread (ITVS) and Legal Lens (Boston Globe). All of these projects were accompanied by engagement campaigns with measurable and enduring impact.
