Bio
Daniela is a German, Los Angeles-based media executive, educator, and veteran impact producer whose career driving social change initiatives spans over two decades. She is the founder and executive director of the Social Impact Media Awards (SIMA), a global awards program recognizing merits in non-fiction storytelling, and SIMA Studios, a non-profit media agency and fiscal sponsor that has created a new paradigm for the distribution and impact of documentaries globally. With a strategic focus on 'responsible impact through creativity,' SIMA's year-round Traveling Series and educational streaming platform, SIMA Academy, bring social impact films to communities and classrooms in over 100 countries. Daniela’s early career, working in the human rights and international development sectors across South East Asia, West Africa, and the Middle East, has nurtured her expertise and conviction in the transformative power of storytelling, specifically where programming, grassroots empowerment, and high-impact meet.
