Bio
Bethania Maia has been a producer, curator and programmer for film festivals since 2011. She’s been Executive Producer in audiovisual projects since 2018, having worked with music videos, short films, feature films, seminars and film publications. She is co-creator of Rastro - Documentary Film Festival, Cinema Urbana - Architecture Film Festival and Kilombinho - Audiovisual with Children, Youth and Communities. She was curator for national and international festival and exhibitions, in different Brazilian states, Portugal and United States. She participated in the Doc Toolbox program of the European Film Market at the 73rd Berlinale and is participating in the current edition of the Getting Real Fellowship of the International Documentary Association (IDA). She was a Central-West Counselour to the Association of Black Audiovisual Professionals (APAN) from 2021 to 2023. She is the founder of Vaporosa Cultural, an audiovisual production company focused on Latin American Afro-Diasporic narratives.
