Bio

Asif is a fervent believer in the power of media to educate people and change minds. He has spent his career focused on the intersection of media, technology, and social impact, with a special focus on gender equality, education, LGBTQ+ rights, and global diversity. He has worked for several top non-profits and tech-focused organizations and also served as an adjunct professor at the St. Johns University Graduate School of Communication from 2018-21. Asif started his career in social impact at the United Nations Foundation managing global programs and creating long-term corporate partnerships. In addition, he has held high-level positions managing programs, partnerships, and guiding strategy at top non-profits like DoSomething.org, Games for Change, Room to Read, Earth Day Network & Action Against Hunger. Prior to joining the non-profit sector, Asif worked in corporate finance and investment management at The Jordan Company and AllianceBernstein in New York. Asif was one of 50 top professionals in the field of emerging technologies selected for the Schusterman Foundation’s REALITY initiative in 2018 and is an active member of the global REALITY community. He was also selected for the Princeton Emerging Leaders Program in 2019. He is involved in several charitable causes and nonprofits largely focusing on youth, and education, including Conrad Challenge and Live Your Dream, and also serves on the board of Thinking Huts. Asif has a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Master’s in International Relations & Development from the University of Warwick in England. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Urdu & Turkish, and has lived, studied, and worked in the US, the UK, Spain, Turkey, Argentina, Mexico, & Pakistan.
