Bio

Annette King is CEO, Founder and Producer at Splicer Films. She founded the production company to tell impactful stories that inspire audiences to create a better world. King has built a team of talent collaborating across borders on stories with purpose that evoke empathy, shift narratives and spotlight underrepresented cultures and subjects. She produced and co-directed “Finding Ubuntu”, a documentary profiling the personal journey of a Congolese hero, Maick Mutej, who emerges as a human rights advocate for thousands of refugees in Malawi while in the midst of his own crisis. As an Impact Producer, her production company focuses on purpose-driven films that spark meaningful conversations and catalyze social change. Through these stories, she hopes to inform audiences and evoke empathy by spotlighting changemakers inspiring audiences to address social issues in their communities and globally. King holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. She has over 25 years of experience in business development, social entrepreneurship and startups. King provides motivational and informative talks for educational institutions, civic organizations and corporate leadership conferences. She presented at the Cannes Marché du Film UNHCR Refugee Voices Roundtable to raise awareness for underrepresented heroes and their untold stories. Her next project in development is a docuseries profiling grassroot change-makers leading social causes to address issues of marginalization in their communities. King is a member of the Documentary Producers Alliance, Women in Film and Video, National Association of Latino Producers, and Sundance Collab.
