Bio

Alyssa Suico is a freelance film producer and has worked on films and documentaries that have been part of notable festivals such as the Pardi di domani section of the Locarno Film Festival and the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival as well as key institutions such as Action Against Hunger - Myanmar, Oxfam sa Pilipinas, and CNN Philippines. As a filmmaker, she immerses herself in documentary and experimental films with her personal works gaining recognition by national institutions such the Gawad Urian, and the Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Vidyo at Pelikula. She was part of the 2019 Image Forum Festival in Tokyo, Japan under the program of Philippine Contemporary Experimentation as Political Practice. She is currently part of Mayday Multimedia, a media collective that produces short documentaries, photographs, and other multimedia works that center the experiences of working class Filipinos. Together with Mayday, they produced See Us Come Together, a short documentary featuring the story of an ophthalmic lens workers union. The film screened in various worker communities, local video and film platforms, as well as international labor film festivals in Argentina, New York, Bristol, and Turkey.
