Bio

With a rich tapestry of over a decade in the film industry, Aaron Brokenbough, Jr. emerges as a Filmmaker and Producer whose passion for storytelling has left an indelible mark on diverse projects. His journey unfolds as the Co-Founder of SLYTREE CREATIVE, a brand-building company specializing in video content and long-form storytelling. Leading the charge, Aaron has crafted digital content for reality chef Dani Marie Harris, captured the essence of the Nomad Tea Festival, and live-streamed sporting events for K1 Sports. Currently, his creative endeavors include the development of the IPMF-awarded short narrative "Trading Stories" and the post-production phase of the captivating dance documentary "Dance Transplant." In 2023, Aaron served as Line Producer for the "DON'T CRY FOR ME ALL YOU DRAG QUEENS," where he orchestrated the hiring and onboarding of production staff and crew, constructed deal memos, and provided overall support for the day of production. This project, under Sotomayor Productions for Outfest in Association with Traverse32, showcased Aaron's exceptional skills in managing intricate production processes. His portfolio also includes producing the Philadelphia Filmmaker Lab-selected short film, "An Endoscopy," which premiered at the 12th Annual Blackstar Film Festival and is currently being submitted to various film festivals. His contribution as a 2nd Unit Producer/Production Assistant for "IS MY LIVING IN VAIN" further exemplifies his ability to coordinate and execute artistic projects efficiently. This commissioned art film premiered at Hot Docs, winning an Audience Award, and received a nomination for Best Experimental Film at the 12th Annual Blackstar Film Festival. Aaron holds a Bachelor of Arts in Television - Writing and Producing from Columbia College Chicago, with a minor in Marketing. Beyond his academic achievements, he is an active member of several industry organizations, including Video Consortium, Reel Talk Philly, Radical Communicators, PhillyCAM, and Black In Film. Aaron's dedication to his craft has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the BlackStar Philadelphia Filmmaker Lab in 2023, the Philadelphia Independent Media Fund Grant, and the Illuminate The Arts Grant.
